Been awhile since my last update. Been busy...

Going thru many aplenty of photos right now from Hawaii, a great band called Kings of Spade played a interesting venue in Honolulu's Chinatown. Will post those up later.

Hawaii is a beautiful place filled with wondrous people and the spirit of Aloha. I haven't felt that welcome anywhere. It's not MN at all. More natural and unforced, flowing and soft. I felt drained after coming back but it was more of a emotional drain than anything. I want to go back many times, even live there for a spell. Something, something called to me there... hard to explain.

I flew in and my friends and I then dived into looking for spots and hanging out everywhere. Never a better time since my stay in New Zealand, which I am planning to go to sometimes this year as well. Anyways, the food was beautiful and the drinks plenty. Walking in the sand beyond compare.

I will try to keep up with bands and post but it's been a bit of a drain on me. So many people do it and so many people have the in for it. Going to be pretty poor the next few months so I might just be going thru a tons of film that needs scanning and some sets that I haven't been able to get thru that I shot around the Holidays.

then to top that off my E3 autofocus is out and needs calibrating. Been shooting manual this past month and while it suchs with digital lenses it gives me some humility at doing EVERTHING manually... what fun huh? For now I just might stick with my M6 and G2. Even my Yashica GSN Electro... hehe well that's all of an update for now.

A day of Storming and warm melodies.

So kicked off Tuesday by heading to 1st ave for the 30th Annual John Lennon Tribute Show to snap a few, the film shots will be dealt with next week. They were honestly good, but i miss the beautiful costumes from last year's Rock the Cause, they would have rocked last tuesday. Here:

Rock The Cause

But instead of we have a packed house full of local talent, new eager listeners and people who have always believed in the music. Everyone was spectacular both in kindness and in enthusiasm. I was only there long enough for a few songs before Erik Hess and myself headed out for some calmer crowds and local flavor at the Turf Club, which was fantastic. Thanks to all who made it thru the snow for these great shows...

then off to the Turf Club! Ladies and Gentlemen, the Dirty Colors! Of course they had a few other bands opening for them. They were Is/Is and Telepathos. Both great bands. Photos sent off to development, back next week on my flickr.
